Just wondering if anyone has ever tried to use a aeroponics system outside using the natural sunlight instead of using MH or HPS bulbs inside. Or if this is even possible.

I emagine water temp in the res may be a problem..atleast in my neck of the woods.. not to mention the skeeters;)

If you are outside you can bury your res and it will stay cold, like fridge cold.

You do not want your reservoir getting a cold as a fridge... Your plants will not survive.. Bugs will stay out if your reservoir is sealed.. My outside ambient temperature fluctuates greatly from day to night.. 90 to 65. I still think if I moved my Areo system outside, it would be just fine.. THe temp would probably maintain 75 degrees.. give me time and i'll try it.. theres a whole mess in the worx..!

I wanted to build one to grow tomatoes this year, but circumstances intervened and I didn't have the time. I figured that it would be the best of both worlds--natural sunlight and hydroponics. I was going to put my res in my crawl space, where it always stays cool, but burying your res in the ground, as Tater mentioned is a good idea.
