i need to know the safest way to transplant a plant from a small seedling (2weeks old) to a GH Water farm

in my personal opinion i wouldnt transplant it at all. transplant at any time can cause severe shock especially when the young plant is just getting its root system developed. shock now can cause serious damage later on and slow growth. trying to transplant to a different medium is tricky in itself. i would say its a bad idea to transplant like that.

yea i know that part......hm maybe if i did the transplant during the seedlings dark phase. so shes asleep the whole time. it looks like the only real safe way to do this is to buy rockwool and put it into the middle of the hydroton

before i go to bed id like to ask what should my next should be. good thing my baby is still germinating...well so i guess i should take the seed out back into the wet paper towels if i can get rockwool or w/e put the seed/seedling into the rockwool thats in my waterfarm
only problem is i need to get the stuff for the rockwool, ppm meter, ph kit, god dam this blows i need money

I have transferred clones from soil to a bubbler. I didn't put mine into rockwool--they went directly into the hydroton. I got them moist, separated them from their containers, gently rinsed all the dirt off the roots, and then gently replanted in the hydroton. If you use rockwool cubes, make sure that you soak them in pH's water. Make sure they have decent roots before you transplant.

how do you mean gently rinsed? like should the water temp that i use to wash the roots off will that be a big factor, or did you mean simply being VERY careful when you rinsed and during the whole transplant?

She means "don't use the garden hose to rinse them off. You could probably just take the seedling dirt ball and just submerge it in a big bucket of distilled water till and lightly woosh it around till all the soil is gone from the root structure, then just gently and very carefully transplant it straight in hydrotron.

The simplest way, IME, is to take the little root ball, with as much dirt as possible and place it in a pail full of water. The water will slowly loosen the soil from around the roots so it will be virtually painless for the plant.

^^^Just beat me. :aok:

drop the seed in some water and follow my germing thread. its easy and foolproof if your using quality genetics. try using hydroton it is less prone rootrot if overwatered and is easier to flush. this is important for a beginner as these two are big factors in dro.

i dont think its a big deal, always good to ask if you dont know... im still wondering where i put my bong?????? puffin you got it?

ohh here it is with the car keys in the fridge!!!!

I would honestly wait and take a clone from it once you know its a female. then you can do a side by side comparison grow.
