I am a newbie med grower with 4 girls in 7 1/2 weeks into flowering. They are white widow. Since this is my first grow I am wondering when the pistils will start turning color. The buds are filling out nicely but are still all white. Do some varieties take longer to turn or not turn brown at all. I am hoping harvest more for a body high (pain relief). I will wait; I know I am in the home stretch, any guidance or help from you expierienced growers will be greatly appreciated.

its not the pistils you want to go by its the trichs ,,,,they will determine when you want/need to harvest ,,,the heavier the buzz the more amber trichs you want :peace:

You will need a hand microscope (Radio Shack) or a jeweler's loupe to look at the trichs. Some strains the pistils do not change color.

I have WW (amsterdammarijuanaseeds.com) 40 days into flower and some of my pistils are turning amber, but my trichs are clear as a bell.

I think Widow takes ten weeks to flower so I bet your pistils will brown up in another week or two.

Hi...

I read this info recently at a seedbank's website... I'm vegging some WW clones right now for my next bloom show when my current girls are done in about a month...

Ah, yes... the power of darkness...

White Widow Specifications

Vegetative Time: At least 2 to 4 weeks if on Bio. On Hydro it is only recommended to grow it for 2 weeks.

Flowering Time: On both mediums it is suggested to flower (12 hour light) the White Widow for 8 weeks, but 10 weeks will really give you the crystals you are after. We suggest the final 2 weeks of the flowering cycle to turn the lights off altogether - or at least down to 8 hours. This keeps the flowers from regrowth and stresses the plant into giving up its last drop of goodness as crystal to protect the flower...try it!
