So I rented a beach house for the family for 2 weeks (4th of july and all.) pleasant enough.

I come home to feed the cats and check on the 4 "ladies".

On one of the plants, about five nodes down from the top, was a tiny ..droopy flower looking thing? kinda? anyway i touch it....yellow dust :(
I looked up and down all the other plants including the hermie and couldn't find another pod or droopy flower thing.

No light leaks, i pulled the males early....what gives?

Is this the chance I take using bag seed? Is it just genetics? I was under the impression hermies were the result of stress, light leaks, etc.

anywho, 3 months down the drain? continue the grow and get what I can?

so sad.

A hermi will produce a hermi. So if your smoking a hermi and plant a seed it will be a hermi. Its the chance you take with bag seed.

A hermi will always produce a hermi period. Cant change it, but hey you got a 33 1/3 chance of a male, female, hermi

Good genetics that you buy will be male or female, or you can buy feminised seeds. This only gives you a better chance of females. I say you should grow out your best plant and start taking clones once you have taken it to full term and it doesn't show the dreaded hermi trait make it your mother and as long as you keep her alive and can clone her you will have all females.

All marijuana will turn herm at the slightest chance usually. I've only had a few 100% stable strains out of dozens. A solid environment, as I'm sure you know, leads to a predictable outcome. Often seeds from bags will turn herm, exactly the reason you have seeds in the first place. This is not always the case. Some of my most successfull grows have been with bag seeds. These bags however, come from areas where viable seed is being produced as well. Herms can be your worst nightmare. I'd rid yourself of them at first chance and buy something stable. FYI: I've always developed more stable strains from non-feminized seeds. This may not be the facts, it's is a statistic I've noticed though.

It needs to be removed from the other 3 or you need to kill it.

You could plant it outside and just pick the pollen sacks off as they grow.

If you leave it with your other 3 then it will pollinate them, a hermie has a habit of growing pollen sacks inside buds and you cant see them, these pollen sacks always pollinate any fem near it.

I have planted 3 seeds that came from a hermie plant, they grew into pure females, my very next grow was 6 plants and all of them hermies... You are rolling the dice and odds are leaning towards hermie with them...

Now...when you touched it, is that when it "blew"? Or had it already spewed pollen all over the others? I hope you took them all into the shower, if it just blew when you touched it.

Im finishing my WW grow, even tho it will have seeds, because A. I still want the entire learning experience of bringing a grow thru harvest/curing and B, WTH, seedsy or not, it's STILL White Widow.
I know exactly how you feel. It's kinda like somebody peed on your birthday cake.

But there IS hope. If this was your first grow, Im really sorry this happened. I wish Id had one or two grows under my belt before this happened to me, but there is some good in knowing whatever screw ups I may do in the future, none will beat this one.. Hey, at least you were gone when it happened! Me...man I just MISSED it. Duh.

Hiya lass,
Well the tip of my index finger, the very tip was yellow. Now i'm assuming that i must of popped it. it was the only 'ball' on the entire plant, and believe me i looked lol. I removed that plant and cleaned the other 3.

IDK. all the seeds came from the same bag if i remember correctly, so i'm thinking i'm damned if i do damned if i dont :(

I'm confused tho, a little over into 2 weeks flower and it does this? Is that a trademark of hermies? Or can it happen anytime?

oh well. i'm gonna finish this grow regardelss of what the other 3 plants do. They look fine so far, but then again so did the other one a couple days ago :(
