Green Coco?

This is my first hydro grow, using coco, they're into their 5th week. Plants are growing nicely. My Q is should the nutes be building up to the point that the the top of coco is green?

sounds like algae. I had this problem with rockwool so i made covers out of black plastic to cover to tops of the gro blocks. It worked for me I also cleaned my res out and made it lightproof also.

Algae will grow with or without nutrients... don't worry... algae doesn't do anything bad normally.... just do regular res changes (like you should be) and you'll be fine.
