hookah of mine

I built a simple hookah but I dont think it qualifies as a hookah. It has a bowl on top and it works the same as a bong, you just **** through a hose and not the top of the bong. My question is, on a real hookah, what does the charcoal do?

i looked it up and yes, it is only so that the sh*t in the hookah stays lit, without having to keep lighting it (like a bong). hmm ya, I can see how the inconvinience of lighting the weed outways the massive carcinagine you get from the coals. not worth it in my opinion.

Yeah my friend has special charcol that you light it and it spaks and then you just throw it on top of to piece and your good to go for hours of fun the whole family can enjoy. :guitar:
