what are trichomes

sorry if this sounds dumb but i keep hearing about trichomes and i dont know what they are, are they the hairs or the little crystals that grow on the leaves near the flowers, sorry i know this might be abit blonde but i dont know what they are lol

theres a search button on the toolbar- clik it, then advanced....then search titles only and write in trichomes.

I think trichomes are actual hair like structures on plants. There are trichomes on the stems also, but not supposed to contain much if any THC. The types we are interested in are like the above link.
