help my pots have been invaded by gnats. can anyone tell me how harmful they are and how to get rid of them. it seems like they are growing in numbers everyday. at first it was just one that i couldnt catch to kill now the invasion is on. help!!!!!:confused2:

It's the root ball you have to worry about, the flies won't do much harm.

Always always always use fly traps/ sticky tapes in grow environments to catch those little bastids.

Any pyrethroid based insecticide should take care of them. There are also beneficial nematodes (worms) you can obtain to sort the problem also.

A but of h202 in the water probably wouldn't hurt.

If they are fungus gnats than they are caused by moist conditions which create fungus. You can spray for them, or you can get a fan going and help dry the soil out more often between waterings.

type "fungus gnats" into the search feature...;)
