I want to try to bend the stem of my plant like this to save horizontal and vertical space using strings {purple} to keep it in the direction I want, does anyone see this as impossible or too stressful?

Nope, it's called LST (low stress training) and you just don't want to go too far too fast, search LST in the forums and also on the web and you should find a bunch of info.

There are lots of ways to use LST to make your plants bushier. Here is one method. I've used pipe cleaners with great success because they are easy to adjust as the plant grows. The pix are before and after. The first pic is Day 18 when I began the LST. The 2nd pic shows how bushy it has gotten over the last month. I flipped 12s to this plant yesterday. It looks like it will produce lots of good bud sites.
