How big should the root ball be before we can transplant our clones into soil? We got four that stand about 6 to 8 inches, and we have them sitting in non-transparent cups in small amount of water. It was a slow process, but after a week we have white root tips coming out. I understand there are better ways to get roots, but this worked fine for us.

If roots are coming out. You can transplant anytime.

i would wait for the plants to get root bond in the cups be for i tranplant. u can water more in the small cups. this means u can feed more times more food more growth.

If they are sitting in water and you see roots I would get them in grow media as soon as possible. They may start rotting if they sit in water very long.
