We recently had a previously healthy Blueberry die, in a strange way. It seemed to slow down its water intake; soon one half of the plant was wilting terribly and, about a day and a half later, the other half was. All of the other 8 or so plants in the room are still quite healthy. The soil in this pot just eventually stayed moist--the plant stopped drinking. It had only been in this pot not quite a month. Any ideas?

Hello Summer :)

If it stopped taking water then it was a root problem, could it have been severely rootbound?

Maybe it had root rot.

These things happen to all of us now and again.

Sounds like good advice Hippy, summerbreeze after you yanked the plant did you look at the roots? were they white or black?

Could have been a soil pest. For instance, one of those dark caterpillar things that eats the covering off the stem just below the surface. Hard to tell without an autopsy. Call CSI! No, better you don't...
