I just switched from a 400 w MH to a 600 w dual spectrum HPS and I noticed that the temps feel higher that when I last used a 600 w HPS without the dual spectrum range.

Does the HPS light with the fuller dual spectrum tend to produce more heat than a comparable HPS that is basically at the red part of the spectrum?

And is there any value to using a dual spectrum in flower as opposed to a single red spectrum light?

Thanks for any advice.

Been awhile since I grew with a dual spectrum. When I did the bulb had 2 gas filled glass tubed. 1 was hps, the other was mh. The bulb gave off quite a bit more heat then just a hps bulb. Mh always do.

Advantage was less stretch, denser buds in some instances.
