I have recently come across a bag of feminized sativa/indica seeds (10 in all) but i have no knowledge or experience of how to cultivate them. Can anyone advise me of the best and most economical method?

How many seeds should go into each pot? All 10 for each plant pot?

What equipment would I need that is both reasonably priced and not too complicated for us budding amatuers?

For inexperienced growers, are things like soil type, germination and germ/bacteria fertilizers as important as internet sources imply?

Also, would I need to secure a closet or room even for growing such a small amount? My apartment isn't that big.

There's a lot of info out there on the web relating to marijuana cultivation, but I just can't seem to get my head round all the gardening jargon.
Is anyone able to provide basic growing information for the layman?

Many thanks in advance.

OB

hi and welcome .
firstly you need to be reading thru as much as you can on this great site. page after page will tell you all the basics.
most of your questions will most definatly be answered in here somewhere,
it took me months of dedicated research, for me to be able to grow.
im on my 3rd grow now.
have another look thru the pages and then after if you still have some questions feel free to ask away. there is loads of great people that will advise you. me also.

Well Orangebud I am somewhat new to indoor growing. My first thought is tell you to read allot about what you wanting to do with lights, soil, ventilation, closet growing . But just a little bit of friendly advice, be careful growing in an apartment. That sorta like the first rule of indoor growing. What about the apartment manger, pest control guy,neighbors...etc.....But what ever your choice is, there is plenty advice and information here.

this is not a cheap hobby to grow a good product.but it is an addictive hobby.it hets in your blood and you will be consumed with it.i know i am.i can never get enough knowledge about this great plant.when i am not actually messing with my grow area and plants,i am reading, watching films or searching online for more knowledge about growing.some of it is bunk, some is very intuitive.

hey dude...buddy... you gotta decide to grow it hydro, or soil, my suggestion..start with soils.. and learn from there... you will have to decide what kind of soils suits you good.. my advice is start with potting soils and it must be premixed soils..from there you might get good success.. growing it with M.H. lights will be great start or Cfl lights.. one seed per one pot... I got me a grow journal..2 cent grow journal.. you might take a reading, and get idea..of my hobby... some of us do have grow journal. . you can take look at their and learn.. of course we do have grow resources here on the front page..

Ive ben coming to this site for almost two years, several times a day. And I still learn something new everyday. My point is, I still have not even grown a plant from start to finish. The best tool you can have is knowledge so read, read, read and when you think your ready give it a try, but keep reading. You will find that learning about weed and growing weed is more addictive than smoking it.

You really need to learn all you can and have an idea of what you want to do. Start at the "Resources" section and then read all the stickies that pertain to how you want to grow. There are so many variables that no one can really plan your grow for you.

The old Overgrow Faq are also a wealth of info

Thanks for all your advice, it's been very helpful.

A wee question. With regards to germinating seeds, how improtant is this part of the process? It seems rather pointless when you consider that every day seeds are grown naturally and successfully without the aid of human interference.
Can't one just plant the seeds in the pot and start the process from there?

As a newbie to the world of weed cultivation, would I be advised to grow using hydroponics or should I opt for the au naturale method?

I saw an advert on ebay for complete hyrdoponic equipment.
I'm not sure whether or not it's a good offer. Your collective input would be greatly appreciated.
It appears as though I can't attach a link to said product, but it's a "Complete 600w HPS Grow Light Kit System Hydroponics" that includes:
1 x PowerPlant Daylite Ballast.

1 x Prolite Reflector.

1 x Pair of Easy-Roller light hangers.

1 x High Quality Dual Spectrum (Veg & Flower) Grow Lamp.

Comes to a total of £132 including P&P

I would go with soil first. Its much more forgiving with mistakes. Once you have the feel of that down, then try hydro. Theres a big learning curve with growing MJ and once you have a soil grow down you will have a much better handle on it all.

Also, with germinating, nature give Marijuana hundreds of seeds per plant to spread and root, and most of them don't take, but a few do. You only have 10 seeds, you want to do all you can to ensure germination with such a small number.

Hold on to your seeds untill you have everything ready for your grow, from germination to harvest. Then plant those seeds, you'll be equipped to deal with any trouble they give ya.

here your list... day light 23 w cfls couples of it

potting soils, or some of your apt building has some of soils at the parking lot ;) man I'm bad hee hee..

I used the cutted off beer can and when it got bigger I transplanted to the half cutted off 2-liter bottle.. just my 2 cent.. last me 3 month worth of dried buds.. and grew in bathroom!! yes guest bathroom!! some of my guest was shocked..

Reading makes a big difference. But the best way I think as in just about everything else is hands on experience. I pretty sure about 20-30 years ago there wasn't that much info out there like now. Trail and error.
