Just curious if anyone has used smaller than the standard (5gal) buckets for a soil grow. I have an odd shaped space i will be using this next time for my meds and was wondering what would happen if I used maybe a 4 or 3gal bucket. Root bound? If i use 5gal I would barely be able to fit any in there.

i only use 3 or 4 gallon pots and they work great.
Oh wonderful news, thanks. My grow space is a rectangle- 7.5'x2.5'x7' tall. I was hoping to fit 12 plants in there but with 5gal buckets it looks like I can only fit 1 row all the way down of about 6. Would be nice to be able to fit another row in. I know alot of people dont weigh their crop, but have you? What kind of yield are you seeing on the smaller pots per plant if you dont mind me asking.

I'm using 3gal bags as well. Jr. is doin fine.....
