Air cooled hood

Is there any reason I should keep the tempered glass on my air cooled hood? I am thinking maybe I am losing too many lumens. I dunno, My yields are pretty ho hum. In my other room under t5's the flowers are looking bigger than my 600 w hps cooled hood

the glass is more for heat control and safety than anything else. you are not loosing lumens, you usually are protecting the plants from the radiated heat.

just my opinion... but glass ain't blocking light.

Hmmm Im with OSC on that one. If your t5 is yielding better than your 600 watt hps there is a fundamental problem somewhere in the room with the 600 watter IMO

You will lose some having glass in your reflector, but it is insignificant. I'm with the others. Tell us more about your 600W grow and maybe we can offer some advise. I use air cooled reflectors virtually ALL the time.
