I have been going back and forth for a while I think the main reason why I have shyed away from HPS is the heat everyone talks about.. How much does a 250 W light put out in a small space.. I have a small CPU fan as well as one for the plants so it is pretty breeze in there. /// Z

I went back and forth for nearly a year, trying all the alternatives such as CFLs and high output t-5s. Finally, I broke down and got a 150 Watt HPS(Florux mini system- completly enclosed.) By simply buying the flange and some ducting, the temp in my grow cab went down significantly. If you can afford it, yes, get a decent HPS. I am finishing my first HPS grow... man the results are spectacularly different!

I just have a 4" vent with a computer fan sitting on top of my light takes all the heat out pretty good my room never gets above 85.
