Im new to this and have been following a recipe to build my own soil which I will be transferring my seedlings to after about six weeks veg. (In three weeks time)
The recipe I used is 1:1:1 ratio of sphagnum, peat, and compost (about 90 litres total) with ammendments:
6 cups rock mineral dust

Thanks THG - wise words of caution. Yes I did find some of his claims a little overly optimistic. I am in no rush to save time anyway, the method is really an attempt to maximise yield and more evenly control growth and light distribution in the space. Also I have tired of my traditional "s"...
Thanks Hush. You are correct I don't really fancy bothering with a scrog screen. I like to get in and around my plants if I need to. In the past I have managed ok with tying individual branches back to create a flat "table" canopy. Thanks for the description of your method. 8-12 colas is where I...
Three and a half weeks into veg. 18/6 under 600W lights now.
Began a bi weekly feeding schedule of kelp/neem foliar spray and an enzyme tea made of sprouted mung beans, molasses and fresh coconut water.
Im planning on trying this plant training technique on my latest grow.

Seedlings are a week old now. 18/6 under 130 watt CFL.
Repotted the jiffy's to 2.5L pots with organic seedling mix.
Mix is 1 part organic compost to 1 part sphagnum moss and pumice and top dressing of worm castings.
Mixed up a batch of my soil mix which I will transfer plants to before switch...
Ha yes indeed!
I've picked these strains particularly for their potential for colours especially (as you mentioned) when temps cool in flower. I've never tried a grandaddy purple- sounds devine! Can I ask what sort of temps were you averaging to get the purples? Amazing how the phenos can come...
Thanks Rose. This plant we all love is a consistently good teacher.
My frustration at low yields is a good motivator to do a little better each time.
I have the opportunity to provide a friends wife with some medicine for her chronic pain and that too feeds my PASSION to make the best...
Time for a new grow journal.
My last two consecutive grows have taught me a great deal .
My main issues have been from pests and nutrient/ph problems. And obviously my yields have suffered. Also poor choice of container size let me down
That being said.. I have grown some very tasty...
Pictures taken last light cycle - 60 days total.
One plant (lost coast hashplant)in the centre could easily go another 10 -14 days in flower ..., that may or may not happen due to my schedule but for the sake of the rest of the crop its lights out for the next 48 hours and then chop !

Haven't updated for awhile but things are ripening nicely in my tent.
Currently day 53 of flower. Trichs are mostly clear but just turning opaque now.
Still finding issues in general with pests and ph related problems.
Can't seem to keep em green when I switch to flower from...
My digilux 600 ballast has a super lumens setting I am curious to know when or why I should use it and is it even advisable to do so?
What are the positives and negative aspects of this function?
I just had to replace a bulb which failed in my last week of flower..
Can't really...
