One week update
Despite everything looking hunky-dory, trouble was brewing.
First was the front right plant started showing signs of heat stress. Since the roots were in the right temp zone I couldn't figure it out. I checked the roots and they looked discolored, but the roots always...
Hey subcool, what's up?
Man, very cool thread. There's something in it for everyone.
For me it reinforces a lot of what I do.
I like how you look at the garden as a holistic environment. My experience has been the garden will grow as fast as you let it. Give her what she...
Here we are; got too bzzed last night and forgot to take the pic heh.
One week n' a days worth of progress :)
The reason there's one 'runt' is the airstone got disconnected; reinforcing how vital this little addition is.
Thank you Budders Keeper. Yes, from the little I know, O2 associates/dissociates very rapidly so having the stones as close to the water getting to the plant is key.
I'm posting this as a full week from transplant. After this I'll do an every Saturday update.
The growth is taking...
PIC 1, 5 Here they are under a small fluro cab at week 1. White russian the four on the left, Chronic on the right. Pic 4 White Russian Seedling closeup.
PIC 2, 6 They were undernuted in a variety of ways at transplant (Saturday). You can see how yellow they were.
PIC 3, 4 These...
Hey all. Back to try 'er again.
This is not as crazy as you might think. I welcome all comments.
I have the Ebb/Grow system and because I get return water wanted to try a new technique to keep down root zone temps.
PIC 1 I basically drilled the two water lines through the wall...
The only hermaphrodite I ever got was from feminized seed. I had gotten lazy looking for herms so this one seeded the entire grow.
I don't understand the whole pot fem seed industry to begin with. I've read on forums where Gibberleic acid increases female pollen, but commercially it's used...
Yep, sounds like your room temps are in a range it will never be a concern for you. In Winter it's not a concern for me (the res is in the room now), and for most who grow in a 70-80f nothing to worry about.
If you have a temp controlled exhaust and keep it in range you probably won't...
Hi all.
This is an area I've been interested in a few years.
There seems to be a root temperature range for optimal growth (73.4 - 80F for tomatoes. Chart from U of Ohio Hydroponic Program, last pic).
I'm not sure what this is for MJ, but it seems around 80f they start...
Cowboy Budsky, I would go a bit further and say most don't know. The hydro store where I live pays minimum wage and has a high turnover. I've heard some bad advice based on bad knowledge. Sometimes it's fanciful hypothesis seemingly spun out of their imagination. I think most are nice...
Hi Andy. Yeah, thanks! I saw it in your thread and thought I'd give them a try.
Vegs... I'm hoping to get some buds like the pics I posted LOL. The best bud I'm smoking right now I didn't grow. ouch! The AK was gone last by last summer.
Argh! So I titled this "Older, Wiser Grow". Maybe I shoulda made it "Making More Mistakes Grow" LOL.
I started my seeds with an Ebb/Flow, something I've never done and had to use a highter level of nutes compared to my DWC.
I had the EC to 1.1 in the Ebb/Flow before I got rid of a...
Eastla here ya go. :D
I don't have any dried pics. I only got one fem from 4 seeds and was disappointed no purple (this was supposed to be purple dominant strain).
A joint is a very pure way to smoke. I like the kind of papers that burn to nothing. I have to use a little bit of trim to cut the bud just so it burns evenly.
