how many could i put under a 400 watt hps? how big should the pots be?

to help on the plants getting to tall i would put the light a bit closer so they dont stretch for the light, but then u might have some heat issues. in the better situation you need a air cooled fan for the light sumthin like this

yeah ive stressed these out so much i think i should give em some xanax ha. i use filtered water through a brita and flush em right a that ratio of three times the pot in volume. if i cant get the kelp should i just not use anything?
