Ive decided to start a few seeds indoors under cfl and was wondering what should my cycle be and if it matters when my lighting period starts. Im moving them out mid may which is about 15 hours of sun starting at 430am where i live. should I just set it at that to reduce shock?

I have my 400w mh light about a foot and a half away from the plants, their doing good but they havent gotten much taller. I was wondering since I know having the light too far could stretch your plants, can having them too close do the opposite?
