I like them both, but prefer the more floral taste of dry sieve, to ice water extracted kif.

Odorless marijuana oil extraction(butane honey oil, Ether, iso alcohol)

Consider a splif, by adding oil to the tobacco before rolling. I personally don't smoke, but the smokers around here swear by it. Probably ought to consider a professional rolling machine, so that it actually looks like a cigarette, vis a vis a joint.

Purdy! The test of the pudding is its taste. How are the taste and effects?

    hash oil/ tincture

My suggestion is to extract the oil and then reduce the alcohol down to the level that you want. If you just extract with alcohol, you will never achieve anywhere close to the best alcohol ratio. Better yet, extract with alcohol and boil it off so that you can watch the decarboxylation, and...

    New BHO method

Try using a thermos instead of a jar and it will work well. Check out the last process on this thread:http://skunkpharmresearch.com/bho-extraction/

    Hash from moldy buds

Black lights emit a spectrum of wave lengths, some of which is white light. Expensive NDT black light inspection equipment specifies the spectrum andlimits the amount of white light. Unless excessive, white light isn't an issue for our purposes, where it is an issue examining linear...

    Hash from moldy buds

The FPI and Magnetic Particle inspection black lights are more intense and the spectrum is certified, as is percent of white light, but any blacklight with any intensity should cause the aflatoxins to phosphoresce light green. It will also cause residual solvents to phosphorsce light blue...

    Hash from moldy buds

We've all breathed, eaten, and smoked mold, as it all around us and our immune system just takes care of it. It is the folks with weakened or compromised immune systems that are most often affected, which unfortunately includes many in the Medical MJ program. It is the composting molds like...

    Hash from moldy buds

Define mold! There is more than one kind, most taste and smell like crap, and some of the ones that live on dead material produce aflatoxins which are deadly. If you had the mold on your living material, it was most likely PM or Botrytis bud rot, which don't produce known aflatoxins, but the...

    Butane testing thread.

May I clarify? The molecule would actually be butane, without the oxygen molecule in the middle, but the oxygen splits the four carbon butane atom into two, two carbon ethyl atoms, hence the di ethyl name.

    Butane testing thread.

Sorry, never tried diethyl ether, but it would clearly work. It is polar, and based on the ethane molecule, as is ethanol. It just has the oxygen molecule in the middle, as opposed to on one end like ethanol. Availability here, is about the same as other reagent grade solvents, as is the...

    Butane testing thread.

What is missing in the discussion, is perspective. The bigger question is what are the impurities? Since the answer is oleaginious waxes, propane, cyclopropane, and isobutane, which have low toxicitity, are we really debating how many angels can dance on the head of a pin?

    Bubble Hash into Hash Oil?

Duck soup! As you have already separated the trichomes from the green plant material, you can soak as long as required to dissolve the resins, without worrying about chlorophyll pickup.

Kief from late flowering fallen leaves?

Anything with trichomes on it can be extracted. Just depends on how many there are, as to whether the effort is worth it. As PD noted, oil from fan leaves is not all that tasty, and has more of a sedative effect, than a high. It does make a killer topical though, which is what we use it for.

How to get the "green taste" out of ethanol extractions

Unless you filter the water, you will lose some trichomes during the water cure. Those of ya'll who handle their bud over a harvest box, can attest to how much falls off just handling the material. I prefer to use a frozen quick wash technique, so as to not pick up the chlorophyll in the...

    Which BHO extractor

For 28 grams and under, I would recommend that you pick up a stainless steel turkey baster for under $10 and make your own. Bed, Breakfast, and Beyond has one about that size for $7.99. We have our own glass columns built at a local scientific glass shop, and after some experimentation, I...
