    Algae problem

when i first started i had the same issue and the same question, i ended up using a fungicide (from lowes) and that solved the problem. but eventually i realized that the growth was no big deal and aslong as a thick gooey coating doesn't form....and for this to happen the top of the rockwool...

    fan speed

a speed control or rheostat will not help you with this type of fan. However, you may have a model that allows you to choose between two speeds, low and high. Check where you would make the power connections, the wires should be labeled.

My New Grow Malawi And Swazi Gold

It could possibly take up to two weeks before a seed sprouts depending on many different things, 3-5 days has been my average a couple have taken a bit longer. By putting the seran wrap on top of the pot and keeping it in place with a rubberband you are making a small greenhouse. Think that it...

    Tom-tom's Godzilla Hydro Grow

How old are these now? I leave my airpump on only while the lights are on, I don't think that you want to be watering while the plants are supposed to be resting.

My New Grow Malawi And Swazi Gold

I germinate my seeds by putting them into the soil then covering it with plastic wrap, and I haven't had any problems. Usually takes mine 3-5 days to break ground. You may want to add a couple of lights, I'm not sure how long you are going to have them inside.

    algae on rockwool

Now I have some algae showing on the hydroton. Should I not worry about this either? I have done some searches on hydro store sites for antibacterial/antifungus agents and the only thing that ever turns up is rootone and similiar brands. Could I put a couple of dashes of that into my solution?

Anyone know how to wire up an HID light?

I would have responded to this sooner, but I'm just now seeing it. I'm assuming that you have a fixture without a power cord, or are you trying to build a light out of parts? If you just need to connect a powercord: what you will need: "romex" type wire connector (size 3/8) 15 feet...

    algae on rockwool

True. Thanks for your comments, I guess not having dealt with all of this before is making me over cautious. As long as the algae isn't hurtin the plant or messing the rockwool up then all is good.
