Lady bugs and lacewing larvae are good. Gnats damage is their maggots eating roots.

The trick is to maximize potential. Have some spare $$$ for emergencies like pests. You need a room fan too to move air and an extraction inline fan. A RH/thermometer is good too. I like the remote ones. Are you planting more than one plant per container? Kinda confused on that.

Cheap MG will help. I don't use it but its cheap. I think its their tomato line.

If just starting GH has General organics Go box. Nute shedule is on their site for soil or hydro. About $32 for the full line.
