i saw a 48" parabolic hood for 47 bucks!

i like the hood idea for more light dispersement - i suppose heat would become more of a issue than an air cooled one but I understand an air cooled one would offer only limited light coverage. Hoods are cheaper too.

would the 1000w cover 5 x5?

I haven't done yet this but I watched some Youtube videos on it - I noticed they take off the lower branches' leaves but not the branches - why? My thought is if you want to focus on bigger - more colas, why keep the branches - aren't they using nutrients that could be going to your higher...
