about a month in, organic soil grow
...tea should have plenty of potassium in it with the kelp and molasses. The initial kelp meal that was in the soil must be used up, and the greensand I either didn't use enough, or it isn't being released fast enough. I will have to remember to give them a bump of kelp meal after a month or so...- next

This is how I do mine greens and browns just like a compost pile. I add greensand, azomite, and glacial dust with each new tray. Once in awhile spray them with AEM. I don't blend or compost their food. Layer of greens layer of browns(shredded newspapers).- pcduck

Didn't mix up a fresh batch, just added the alfalfa/neem cake/greensand to the existing soil I had prepared. OK, so I got the alfalfa, neem cake, and greensand that I didn't have before. But never found the pine/spruce/fur bark mulch. I "could" go into the bush and get some pine bark.. or even raid a firewood stash.. how much do I need? I'm about to add 1.5tbl / gallon of the greensand / alfalfa...- next

Normally, I'd agree. But, shifting to plant based amendments, very dense homemade VC, rock dust, greensand and the like prompted the need for more aeration. It developed as the mix evolved. Wet- Droopy Dog
