you will definatly do yourself a favor by getting a carbon filter if you are worried about smell. As for heat, can you cut a hole in the ceiling? If so try using an air cooled light with a fan and some duct to run the heat from the lights up out of your grow space. If that is not an option...

Yeah got it but I'm not really interested in growing in soil. I've grown in soil several times but am trying something different so I can have more control over my nutes. If what I got from your reply is correct are you saying that I should flood every other hour?
