    Lights on 24/7

I do 20/4 in veg just to save a few bucks and haven't noticed any difference from when I was giving them 24 hours straight. If cash wasn't an issue for me I'd have left them without a timer.

    Another dehumidifer question

Somehow, after trying what I described above the situation just got worse. The dehumidifier in the veg room brought the RH there down to 40%, and thats the only air now being piped into the main room, which still had it's own dehumidifier running...and is at 75%, worse than when I had both...

    Another dehumidifer question

Yeah I had both dehumidifiers pointed at the plants with a wind machine in between to help move the air their direction, but w/ 4 4x4's in an L configuration it didn't cover much of them. I put the hygrometers remote sensor in the area I was blowing towards and it was just a few points lower...

    Another dehumidifer question

Thanks! The floor was concrete, but now it's got a layer of particle board covered by vinyl flooring. On my units the dry air does come out the back, yes. The room is 15x17x~8.

    Another dehumidifer question

OK. So the idea is that the bulk of the intake fan obstructs air exchange when the exhaust fan is off? What I was saying about the filter inserts in my post above is that when the exhaust fan is off the intakes already don't seem to have any air exchange. I don't understand how adding a...

    Another dehumidifer question

I'd have two options if I went that route: 1. I could slap some 6'' ducting between the intakes and the laundry room and put a dehumidifier up there. I'd really like to avoid cutting holes in the living area though. 2. I could move my intakes to the wall the flower room shares with the...

    Another dehumidifer question

That makes sense to me, though I forgot to mention that I've got a layer of washable poly-fiber filter and a layer of carbon filter sheeting in each intake also, held in place by a plastic duct grate. They're at the top of the pic below. I don't think much air moves through them without the...

    Another dehumidifer question

I'm growing in coco, ebb&flow, flooding only once or twice a day. Ventilation is a 10" max fan w/ 10" duct for exhaust, controlled by a thermostat to keep temp ~77. Two passive 6'' intake holes in the wall to what is essentially an open crawl space. 4 16 inch oscillating fans to move the...

    Another dehumidifer question

So after getting 2 LG 65 pint units running 24/7, the RH still won't go below 65%. So I think I have no choice but to grab one of the big pricey ones people use in sealed rooms. My research so far has led me towards the Evolution 115 pint and the Santa Fe Classic 100 pint, but I'm still...

    Dehumidifier Question

The room is fairly big, ~13 x 15, but I just have 4 1000w HPS in it, each over a 4x4. That + the smaller veg area keeps me just within legal limits for my county. I think the problem with the AC's effectiveness is due to my having a vented room too. I still can't academically understand how...

    Dehumidifier Question

Thanks for the input, in the summer I did use a portable AC, 12,000 btu's I think. I think it isn't quite powerful enough for my room, it didn't have a tremendous effect but it brought temps and RH down to barely acceptable levels. Where I live now it's cold in the winter though, cold enough...

    Dehumidifier Question

I found what looks like yours and it got great reviews, but Home Depot doesn't have GE dehumidifiers anymore, nor did any other store I called. I ended up with a 65 pint LG. I decided I'll give it a tryout, if it doesn't cut it I can return to the drawing board. I also put my exhaust on a 15...

    Dehumidifier Question

OK, it's time to actually buy a unit now. My first harvest in this new space is done and the GDP got hit heavy by mold(strangely, the mold barely touched the Afgoo and Blue Cheese right next to it). I saved the rotted buds I picked off throughout the grow for bubble hash and in total I lost...

    generators??

The Briggs and Stratton looks good. I also found a 10K generator that's going for $900, can I get you to take a look and see if there's any reason to stay away from this one. AT 10K and a mere 72db of noise it seems too good to be true...

    generators??

Wow, I'm glad I found this thread. Does anyone here have any first hand experience running a 3K-5K diesel generator that can give some details on noise, smell, etc.? I'm spending my first winter in the mountains and just had my second lengthy power outage due to a storm. My plants are fine...

    Harborside clones

Update on whats currently in my garden from HS: Blue Cheese, week 6: very inconsistant batch of clones but the ones that took off made up for the ones that didn't grow, only a few had to be tossed and only one of sixteen didn't reach the canopy and is basically a dead plant in five gallons...

Latest time you can trim undergrowth?

I'm going to try to get hold of one today.

Latest time you can trim undergrowth?

I think what Iill do is just cut all the leaves that won't get light and leaveb the buds as scaggly popcorn for bubblehash.
