ive been using rain water now for quite some time with no problems. imo, any organic matter; poops, plant matter, etc, are goodies for your plants, not contaminents. ever leave a gal of rain h20 sit out for a few weeks? the ph drops a decent amount due to micro organisms breaking down this...

key word, "booster". these are NOT the same inline fans that are typically used. they are meant to boost the air already flowing. what are the cfm ratings of those? i believe that lumen output is decreased as light travels through the glass/h20, but if you can get em closer to your plants...

imo, ebb and flo SOG style would be most optimal when it comes to yield. u might be able to build your own setup for less then $100, but the pump would definately throw you over your limit. that being said, id still do a SOG, but as someone mentioned above, ALOT of watering.
