I'm an Advanced Nutrients lifer and have been using overdrive since the beginning. It's used for only 2-3 weeks when your buds are swelling and anything beneficial to push your yield when time is almost up is worth using in my book.

Does gravity come in to play? I feed to an elbow and go straight up 2 ft to a T continuing up 1 ft to another elbow.

Should I be checking the temp at the tops of the plants in the light or at the base of the plants? The base is shaded and is a cool 72 degrees? the tops can reach almost 90. I grow in a small 6' high 5' wide 2' deep space. My light is 3" high 4' wide 2' deep which doesnt leave much air flow...
