my 1st grows where indica's ,the acapulco gold is sativa and i'm noticing a differant oder , more "earthy" as compaired to indica's , is this normal ? thank you

i'm doing a soil-scrog grow . what kind of "rock, gravel " or "other kind" of bottom of bucket do people put at the very bottom of an 5 gal. bucket ? so what's at the bottom?and why?

i've been researching pest problems and i believe the best way to stop pests getting to the plants is barriers . i'm designing a scrog set up right now with the frame attached to the 5 gal buckets because anything on the floor or walls can be climbed by a pest, so i'll keep the scrog frame off...

these are the 1st pics of my grow room , top pic is with all 3 (250 hps with cfl's)lights for flowering , the 2nd is my veg set up with only the 2 ,150 watt cfl's , should i put foil over ends of cfl's?

well i'm pretty happy ! all 4 a i's i germed(paper towel method)sprung !they are now there peat pellets under the 150 w. cfl's nice and warm . finally seeing something happening ,now that's cool!

if a grower wanted to keep there plants lower , could they do this by keeping said plants in a smaller pot ? would it depend on the strain? would the high be less potent? or would this just kill the plant?

well i've tested my lights and ventilation , i have 10 aurora indica seeds (fems) ,got my organic soil,got my perlite, got my p-gravel,got my composted cow manure , got my peat pellets , and the closet is done. i'm going to start with 3 beans and see what happens , i'm doing the paper towel germ...

i've got 2 150 watt cfl's for vegging , however it occurs to me that the 3 plants i'm going for (a i's ) will not take up much room at first , they'll easily fit under 1 lamp . but should i have the other lamp on for the extra lumes ?i have white walls and stainless steel floor to reflect the light.
