    Hi kids...!

We had good results keeping our grow in the low to mid 70s too. This was what we read and learned from other growers out there when we got started. The advantage to raising the temp to 80-85 degrees F is the less cooling required in the grow area. I can't speak to the final outcome of the test...

    Hi kids...!

I'm really surprised by the growing numbers of LED growers I'm finding out there. Harley Smith agrees. LED lights have the ability to paint a wide spectrum of light in the right ranges. Three years ago people laughed at us LED growers...now the're starting to mimic us. Some people start a...

    Optimum PH.....

True dat Kraven! Like most lessons in my, and perhaps our, lives is that we rarely learn anything from having everything go smoothly. We learn from our mistakes and get past it. I sure am glad to be past that one. LOL

Please help problem with PH level

I won't claim to be an expert in this type of growing but I know this: 1) Solution pH rising under ordinary circumstances is normal. Nutrients are acidic. Acid drives pH down. As the plants consume the nutrients the solution becomes less acidic causing pH to drift upward. It's a good thing...

    Recommend me a pump

You nailed it! General Rule of Thumb. You'd like your solution to recirculate about 7 time per hour. So one that moves 125 GPH should get the job done. 7 x 18 gallons = 126 GPH. A 150 GPH will get you about 8 cycles per hour. I'm not so sure that going larger offers any benefits. Plus the fact...

    Cheers mate!

    Hi kids...!

I checked out one of your grow journals. I noticed that light LED of yours. What model is that? It looks very familiar. Do you know how many watts it pulls from the wall? IMO that's the only way to truly compare LED to traditional MH/HPS lighting. Again...IMO. YMMV.

    Optimum PH.....

Funny you should mention that exact pH of 5.8. In our earlier hydro days I chose 5.8 as my "perfect pH" number too AND STUCK TO IT. Bad choice!!! We suffered a manganese deficiency because, in hydro, manganese is taken up by the plant at pH levels up to 5.7. We lost the entire crop because I...

    Hi kids...!

Thanks for the welcome Dan. I see you're an MJP newbie too. Are you new to growing or, like me, have you been growing for a while and just now come out of the shadows?

Dry Nutrient Blends in Organic Hydro

Ya know what Rosebud? That's an excellent idea. My very first Grow Journal and I owe it all to you! LOL Biostimulants are beneficial bacteria that assist the plant's ability to uptake nutrients such as phosphorous. I couldn't tell you exactly what those beneficial bacteria are however. I think...

    Hi kids...!

BBP in the house!!! Thanks for the welcome dude! Your avatar is scaring me a little. It looks like a cross between Frankenstein's Bride, Freddy Krueger and something else I can't quite put my finger on...YET. Help me out...who is that?

    Hi kids...!

Thank you for the welcome Rosebud. How's your dirt farming going these days?

    Hi kids...!

Why RDWC??? Because I'm impatient of course! I want big plants FAST! If I'm going to spend money on electricity I may as well maximize the harvest. I also like to live dangerously by practicing this high risk/high reward method of growing. LOL But seriously... My wife and I are CareGivers in...

Dry Nutrient Blends in Organic Hydro

I recently started watching some Harley Smith videos on YouTube so I've decided to seek a better and cheaper way to fertilize my plants rather than use the sterile Aqua Flakes A&B components, UC Roots type innoculants and various Bud Boosters. In the end we're all just paying for someone else to...

    Hi kids...!

...and all you kids at heart. Just joined the website at the behest of a friend. Glad to be here. Looking forward to exchanging knowledge with y'all. I've been growing in RDWC for 4 years. A lot of trial and error. A lot of trolling other forums. Drop a line. Say hello. I'm looking...
