Go for it!

Just leave it, it will stunt it's growth but they will always out grow their pots. try trimming the roots slowly. If you do it too fast it will shock the plant.

Sounds like it should work for a couple of plants! Spring water can get expensive and annoying to buy so I'd suggest using distilled water and distill it yourself!
