Does anyone know how much it costs to run a 400 watt MH 12/12?
I know theres a formula to figure this out but it confuses me. Honestly:eek:

If you dont know, I'm going to guess between $20.00-$30.00 maybee little more....just my guess without using a calc.

ah you beat me to it.
It looks like i might be low

but its $35 for a 1000hps for me, isint it?

Gotta be quick my friend....:D You normally have 3 rates on your electric bill (or at least I do) Peak/Non Peak things like that... Average of all mine together = $0.0500 however my peak usage rate is $0.0782.

'mornin' fellas....I'll find an old bill and check back..gotta get my ass to work.:rolleyes:

Turkey, the way i figrured out how much i would be charged is by looking at your electric supplier rate per hour. It's usually measured at 1000 watts per hour. For me its about 10 cents per hour so the equation i use is as followed.

- 1000 watts x 24 (or how many hours you run you light in the day)=

- 1000 watts x 0.10 x 24= $2.40 per day

- 2.40 x 7 = 16.00 per week

- 2.40 x 30 = 70.00 per month

I hope this was some what helpful to you turkey, you can find out exactly how much you will need to spend before you actually turn them lights on. Let me know if you want it expalined better

400 watts is .40X.06050= .024 cents per hour X 12 hours per day= .29 cents per day X 30 days= $8.712 per 30 days!

1kw = 1X.06050= $.06050 cents per hour X 12 hours = $.726 per day X 30 days = $ 21.78 per 30 day month

Watts X price of 1kwh X hours per day X days between meter readings = cost per month. Sorry algebra was a long time ago, someone will be able to make an equation for this.

The $.06050 is price per kilowatt hour or 1000 watts costs $ .06050 or 1KWH costs about 6 cents every hour. If one uses less than 1kwh say 400 watts or .400 KWH use the point(.) if one is using one 1KWH light and one 600W or .600KWH one should add 1KWH + .600KWH = 1.600KWH.

When using multi 1KWH say 5 = 5KWH or 5000watts per hour X .06050 cost per KWH would equal $ 108.90 per 30 days.
