A friend of mine has an issue he thinks is a bug of some sort.

Anyone know what this is?

Hard to tell from pick. Do thorough inspection for bugs/eggs/holes. If none looks like nute burn or nute lockout....I am assuming you would ID a PH or Cal-Mag deficiency so didnt discuss those.

Are those white dots or reflections on the leaves? Also see black dots on that small dead leaf.

Have him get a good scope to check under the leaves ?
He will see the Mites all lot I bet

He didn’t see any webbing just the black spots on leaves.

Doesn’t look like the spider mites I have outdoor.

Oh, I thought you had seen this first hand. Hmmmm. If not already, order Pyganic, at least a small bottle from amazon or where ever. If it isnt mites, you want some of this stuff anyway for when/if you do. They can work fast. They multiply like an explosion and lickity split its all web city.
