A (somewhat) formal intro

Just dropping in my hellos. I just started with some seeds that someone gave to me. I know, I know: NEVER USE THOSE, RIGHT? Things look good so far. I have a VERY primitive set up/ 4 ft flouros with one "plant and aquarium" bulb and one cool white. I 'believe' the spectrum should be okay. The plants (2 of 'em) are in the corner of my closet with the light leaned up over them and a white sheet to try and reflect as much light as possible. I said primitive, didn't I? I know. Got a few more things to get and set up. Hope all goes well.
