One of Hushpuppy's posts made me think about my intake air. I started to wonder if I could enrich the CO2 just a little bit.

I am fire paranoid and I don't want the hassle of a propane/butane style generator.

I also don't want the hassle of tanks and distribution systems.

I did a little searching and came up with several other sources or CO2.

One is a bucket with some kind of fungus in it.

Another is pads.

Yet, another is "CO2 in a bag". LOL

Does anyone know if any of these provide a real boost? Even a small boost might be nice.

No way of controlling those, plus not enough CO2.
IMO, a waste of time and money.

Have you ever owned or tried one of these methods?

Those are all a waste of time and money. To really have any benefit, CO2 enhancement has to be monitored and regulated. A small boost is not going to be noticeable--you really need to get ppms up to about 1200-1500 to help.

I tried several different methods similar to what you have mentioned several years ago with no benefits. Sometimes we do not need to reinvent the wheel--studies have shown that these products provide negligible benefits, if any.

Thanks HG. I did some reading on CO2 and it's a pretty exact science. Too much is bad and too little does nothing. You really need to dial it in for it to work at all.

OK, on to the next toy. LOL

Thanks again for the input, gang.

No I have not owned any of the items you mentioned. Although 25 years ago or so I made my own homemade CO2 brewer and it did nothing for the plants. Just for the exact reasons THG said.

Since then, I have done my research and did it right. I have both a mini gen and a tank set up.

First step is get your grow dialed in. Before even thinking of adding CO2.
Things move fast when using CO2.
