An easy starters grow...

Hey folks I'm looking for a very easy starters grow and to be honest my head is spinning before having a smoke!

Is there anything I can grow indoors without specialised lighting?

Is it best to go for feminised seeds?

Basically I feel myself leaning towards Lowryders but I'm nervous about how to sex them and also not sure whether they're value for money...

Any advice?

Welcome aboard DV. For your firsy grow, I like to advise bagseed. They don't cost you a penny to learn on.
I'm neither a fan of lowriders or femminised seeds. "IMHO" the extra money spent for "femminised" seeds, can be much better utilized on the environment you plan to grow in. LR is an auto flowering strain, which means you will have to make seeds or buy seeds for every grow.
Much better purchasing standard seeds of a reputable breeder, find a 'good' female and clone, clone, clone.

A. Only 3 kinds of lightimg can be used in growing pot indoors:
Fluorescents--poor but do-able
Metal Halide (MH)--great for veg, not so good for flowering
High Pressure Sodiums (HPS)--the King of lights. If you can only afford one, get an HPS.

B. Most growers I know don't think feminized seeds are worth the extra money.

C. I've never grown Lowrider. For a beginner I always recommend bag seeds.

BUT before you spend a dime, read up on indoor cultivation. There are stickies here that will direct to to a free grow guide. Read 'em.
Also recommended: buy a grow book. Anything by Ed Rosenthal or Jorge Cervantes is good.

Thanks for the advice Hick, how to I recognise the seeds in ym bags of weed?

I buy off a dealer and I don't know if they maybe take all the seeds out for their own use?

Or do I extract them from the buds?

When you break apart your bud just take the seeds out and use them that's if the bud has seeds.

Hey, mind if I jump in?
If the bud only has a seed or two in the buds. In my experience it will typically hermie on ya. As it was stresses from the growers environment that created the hermie or hermie seeds were used to grow the herb. What I found worked best is a seeded bud. you know those bags of herb with about 20 seeds in it. everyone complains about. Those grew well for me. I firmly beleive that bud with a lot of seeds was mated with a male not self pollenated. It may not be the best bud in the world, but the herb gotten from a bagseed will be better than the bag you got the seed from. I'm actually working with a bagseed strain I like a lot.
but if getting even bagseed is difficult. I would recommend Nirvanas line of seeds. for 30 to 35 bucks you can get 2 strains 10 seeds each of decent easy to grow plants. IMHO its a good way to start if mature bagseed is just can't be obtained.

I agree with hick..... My advice is to get bagseed if you usually dont have any in your bag and you trust the dealer somewhat ask him to save you some... or you can order some seeds from somewhere like seedboutique. Once you get some seeds go and buy 3 or 4 compact floros, good ventilation and read around the forums everything you need to know is here!!!!!!!! Good luck and dont be afraid to ask questions even the stupid ones.
