Hello everyone. I am back to try and grow. I did two grows about 7 years ago. Since then, Illinois has legalized medical marijuana and I got my card. I had pretty good quality in my tent before with decent yields. So now legally, I sprung for a little better equipment. I’m still using a tent as stealth is a small issue with visitors.....mainly just smell.

so now I have an eye hortilux 315 CMH in a 3x3x6 foot tent. Temps are at 72 degrees in the tent at the moment with two seedling autoflowers. I’m hoping to avoid the prices at the dispensaries as it is about 75 bucks an 1/8th. I’m just using auto flowers for a quick harvest and will start photos after that. I ordered way too many seeds this go around.

I’m thinking I will need to scrog with photos and the light I have bc it says 36 inches above canopy. Well cheers and I’ll keep updated if anyone is interested

Sounds like you have the grow well thought out! You will do well........I've never grown autos so I can't give any advice.

Thank you! I like autos but will probably need more help when I go to photos and scrog. Glad to be here!

The Dinafem Critical Jack auto and Garden of Green Critical XXL are doing pretty good. They are about 1.5 weeks old and I just moved the light down about 4 inches. (The light is about 3.5 feet from plants). The manufacturer recommends 3 feet from plants. They seem to be thriving. Watering has been about a gallon per plant every three days. Patience is the key right now I think. The XXL is about 3 days ahead of the Critical Jack. I am waiting for 2 3BOG from mephisito to pop from the soil as well.

Lesson learned/relearned: don’t keep seeds to wet and don’t get impatient checking all the time or it may kill your seeds! Lesson learned.

Been busy but thought I’d post a little update. Critical Jack and XXL are about 5 weeks old. I have started some LST and the CJ is showing flowering. I have started using GH floranova bloom as a nute. I also add 2.5 ml cal mag per watering as I use RO. I also have 2 3 Bear OG planted but they are only about 2.5 weeks old. So far everything is going pretty good.

At $75 for an 1\8th O would be growing my own as well. I wish it was going for that much here!!! I see commercial grade going for under $1,000 a lb here. Have fun.
We just started recreational use and home grow for medical in Jan. I’m sure things will come down in the future. I was underwhelmed with the quality of Illinois dispensaries so here we are. It is a great hobby to boot! Have a great day!

same here - I like that the state is headed in the right direction, but the cost and quality isn’t anywhere close to what I’ve had in other legal states. Having a more open medical growing community has been a benefit tho

Just a pic update

Well the CJA is in about day 8-9 of flower. The canopy is about 2 ft diameter and the plant is about 16 inches tall. We will see how this LST works. Don’t know if there are too many tops??

Looking good my friend.
Just a pic update

These Autos seem to veg way longer than advertised. I think they would be pushing 3 feet without LST. LST works for me right now bc Hortilux recommends 3 ft above plants for light.

That's nothing new. They always seem to push shorter vegg times. Kinda like car salesman push shiny cars. 😁

Well, we had some terrible storms yesterday. We lost power and they said it could be days before it’s restored. I went and checked on the plants, who had an extended dark period last night. No power....no lights......no fans.....no dehumidifier. Humidity was 90 percent in tent! I made the decision to move them in the back yard until I can get a generator or power is restored. I know the sun might be harsh, but not as harsh as 90% humidity and no light. Lil frustrated over here.

We have power!! Minimal harm done. Biggest worry was humidity. But I’ll get thst down to 45-50 pretty quickly hopefully!!
