Thanks for the warm welcomes!

Hello Bexley and welcome aboard.

Looks like you have a garden that keeps you pretty busy.

cheers
big

Yessir! I had the space so why not. Most of my days off are spent near a volcano vaporizer so I gotta fill that puppy up! :p

It’s set to yield a few every couple weeks, so there’s less than it looks compared to a SOG but it’s a steady supply. None of the photogenic strains are in full bloom as I’m cloning or want to clone ‘em. Plus I like little projects & had a ton of aquarium equipment lying around unused that made for some unexpected serendipity.

They are grand! I think they’re just the bomb. I’d be down for a volcano club party anytime.

Also there’s per post photo limits so here’s a /nearly/ two week defoliation study on this Jack.

I was productively busy today!

Swapped the aquarium out for a more light tight option. Killed 2 clones (1 I didn’t like the look of, 1 by accident during transfer). Dome on during day. At 15 of original 24, most are rooted. Moved two of the better ones to Hydro and one to soil to see how they fare before shifting the rest.

Also I finally cleaned up the bloom mini room. I got the Vivo 1k light running and put four in - two Green Crack feminized & two Blue Dream regular that I think are both male. Time to play some Barry White. Also the Green cracks have 6 & 8 top buds!

- Planted 2 more clones in soil to make space for 8 newly cut Banner clones. Testing early soil on 3.
- 2 Hydro tent clones doing well.
- Perlite clones test 50% fail; likely too warm.

Buttercup; nearly done.

A god awful fight broke out in the garden tonight as the two Blue Dream males fought for the right to pollinate.

Weapons were drawn. Sap went everywhere. I have a strong stomach but I was sick from the intense violence.

Then the winner stopped toying with his lesser opponent and finished him.
Oh god it was grisly!

I normally don’t dream but a couple nights ago had a nightmare about germination. For whatever reason I had bought seeds that were sent attached to a mason jar’s exterior & when I took them off some popped off the jar. When I tried to gather them up off the floor I realized the fall broke the taproots off. I started to panic over killing them, and that’s when I woke up.

So yeah, my concerns over the drastic loss of germination success manifesting at night caused me to decide to try again. That and oddly after that dream I checked my new mat setup and found one of the ancient seeds I had tried for fun actually popped. That little bit of hope (& fear) was enough to motivate me to try four Critical Plus 2.0 seeds. Despite it being early hours three seem to have popped! The mat seems to be doing its job so I intend to start a few more to try the strains of failed batches to determine if it was genes or setup. Moving in the right direction!!

Buttercup was cut down. So sparkly, this girl!

Bubbles finished drying and came in at a disappointing 7g, but seems quite nice. Much fruitier than Blossom. However she was part of the early group & had a weak first month as I had been trying to get my setup sorted out as the grow began, so I’m not overly concerned. I think Buttercup’s yield will fall between her two sisters. It’s funny that they all shone in different ways - Blossom in yield, Bubbles in scent (& hopefully thus flavor too), and Buttercup in trichromes

Hydro setup continues to do alright. The two GC clones added in seem to be adapting well & will be allowed to stay.

New GCs

Cloning test 1 - bubbler
Two soil clones seem to have failed but the third looks quite good.
Most of the ‘inactive/won’t make it’ group is gone & all that remains are clones growing out roots. I think I’ll end up with a 33% success rate if most take to being transferred. Although I might wish for more I’m glad for any after being rusty & out of commission for so long.

Took some new clones as well - figured you never know!

Thanks guys :D I’ll get half of her so I’m excited.

Speaking of volcanos - I tried to salvage two cartridges that had started to leak and had trouble warming the vape liquid enough to move it to a functional cartridge. Bring in the volcano, crucible on low heat with the cart resting on it. Halfway through I added the cart it was going into. I used a towel to keep from burning myself. It worked a treat! Volcanos are a real multi-tool.

2 Critical seeds in soil tonight, other 2 waiting to get longer taproots.

Life was crazy for a bit but going on a staycation gave me time to catch up!

Two Green Crack mothers are blooming with the Blue Dream male. A Bruce Banner mama joined the other day. It’s like girls gone wild in there!
The last Blue Dream was a male, sadly, so it’s a father only strain, for now.

Hydro clones moved to soil all perished. The ones kept in hydro are doing well.

Root riot plug clones did very well!!!! I took about 28 since my rates have been atrocious so far, expecting maybe 4 to succeed. Waiting to see how many take to being transplanted currently, but only lost a few. Simultaneously grew a dozen in Rockwool for comparison/desperation and those did not do anywhere near as well (The prior Rockwools died but I’m nothing if not persistent) Definitely going to use plugs only in future! Almost lol of those (25) made it! I experimented with the riot plugs in three ways - exposed in a flat tray, in a grided tray in a storage bin (for taller ones), and in a grided tray with its original dome. The last one worked the best, with the fastest root growth - 100% success so far. Amazing for a $6 product off amazon. That plus the plugs makes an ideal cloning combo for me. Waiting to see how many show new growth before proclaiming it a total win, but many have and I’m so ecstatic with it!

Seedlings are three Critical plus, three GG4, and waiting to see how a few new Tangerine Dreams germinate (5/6 so far). All autos. They are part of my new ‘stable grow plan’ initiative. Also some of the clones will be clocked for that new project.

Smoked a lot of Blossom, loved it. Decent start but needs improvement - too hard a bud after cure, a little harsh too but it smooths out after a couple hits like settling into an old leather jacket. It’s quite nice. I had some of Buttercup which was just alright. More than half of her and Bubbles, and my first white widow were given away. Blossom I have kept since she was the first :) Harvested them plus another three plants so far.

The repositioning of the fan caused some of the flowering plants to purple - which I love.

Reorganized the room itself and gave it a cleaning. Still things to do but I made a big dent!

Also added Humic Acid in my nutrient regime, to compliment the kelp.

I love all the colors in the garden! Drool worthy! Getting purple from NYC Diesel, Lamb’s, and Jack. Also on parts of the Tangerine D.

At least two dozen of the clones have plenty of growth like these two. Still a little in shock there.

Tangerine Dream auto went just shy of nine weeks. Impressive as all get out! I hope the next batch of 5 TDs is equally as impressive!

Most Lamb’s harvested but a few left.

Hello Bexly welcome to the Passion. You got a lot going on Happy Trails.

Thank you! Indeed,
I like experiments and playing about.

Don't forget to get an entry to the Bud of the Month contest! Those purple ones are sweet.
They are cool but I don’t think mine are anywhere near the level of fat frostiness that I’ve seen on here. I still got some learning to do!

So I’ve had numerous plants over the years get three nodes - I love those clover babies - but for the first time noticed a four node plant! Although it’s not throughout but only on part. Makes me think of fused twins!

It’s the Critical Plus 2.0 auto.

Scratch that. The four node is mid-branch. The end/top of the branch actually appears to have six!
4D1798DC-EECA-4174-B2C1-157E936961E8.jpeg

Six leaves on the same level, with six petiole - which makes the end very busy! The companion branch seems to be the same, and interestingly the top of the plant has 4 or 6 nodes as well. I’m tempted to try and seed it - crazy little freak that it is!

Cut the dirt Tangerine down tonight. Amazing creature!

Looking forward to cutting the others down, but glad they need more time to finish flowering. Especially the purples!

Cut down most Lamb’s, estimating 54g dry for first half. They are just such fast, lovely girls.

The one I revegged went into my bloom cubby and met Mr. Male. The mature sections already show immature seeds which I doubt will finish. My eyes are on the new growth, which is too young to show yet. That has the time to finish out but it’s nice to know the plant is ready & willing since I would like to keep some echo of that strain around for a bit.

Speaking of, that Blue Dream male was cut down last night. Magnificent specimen of a man. I salute him!
He leaves behind two Green Cracks heavy with child and one Bruce Banner fresh with child, along with the aforementioned Lamb that’s still pollen caked. His legacy will march on!

The Criticals have budded and the 4 & 6 pistol one is just the coolest and weirdest thing. Now that it’s budding the stem is already obscured in parts and it’s pretty funny. Kind of excited to see what happens!

GG babies and Tang D seedlings look nice but are still all fledglings. Still, I wish I had a recent shot to share their progress!

Most clones who made it this far are doing swimmingly. Two Banners of the dozen gave up the ghost, both thick middling stalk-like ones. Most of the GC dozen are doing well with no clear fatalities on the horizon.
Aside from two immediate fatalities and two obvious ones since, the mixed fifteenish have done well. A couple have their roots through to the bottom already, a couple are in limbo, and the rest are decently springing up in between. I estimate about 32 have become little plants well enough that I doubt they will falter now. A couple others, we’ll see.

The dirt Tangerine is drying and I cannot wait! It has purple sections and just looks so sparkly. The wet Tangerine grew enough to satisfy myself I can do hydro successfully (freakin’ proud) but the spray failed, so I’m cutting it down & sending it straight in the trash heap. One of the new Tangerine’s will replace it (with a new brand of spray) to continue the efforts, but not in hydro. I’d rather pull back on that (effort) to focus on my Frankenstein crosses and experimentations.
Note to self: When the new pack of Tangerine Dreams near maturity, aim the fan their way to get max purpling.
