No. Roots do not need CO2. There is no benefit to watering with soda water (or grape soda, or anything like that), but several downsides.

CO2 dissolved in water is carbonic acid...with the diffusion rate of CO2 being 10000 times slower in water than air...this would be counter productive at best and may destroy the plant at worst....science is fun.

CO2 kills roots...not to mention the Ph fluctuations one would experience pouring carbonic acid in their soil.
