have you guys ever tried to hook a hps up to a 400 watt power supply for a computer....or will that not work...i want to try it

The Power Supply has no ballast and ignitor to light the Hps bulb

There is a lot more to the HPS ballast than meets the eye. The transformer charges the Capacitor for a charge. This fires the igniter. This provides the spike to get the Lamp going. Three things could happen in attempting what your doing. The power supply could catch on fire. Or the bulb can burst. Third Nothing happens. Also the Output of you CPU power supply is DC. The HPS is AC voltage.
But one thing for sure. It can't work.
