Does anyone know...?

I have this huge bush with thorns and some kind of fruit growing on it, kind of looks like a key lime. Can anyone identify it for me? Thanks

Looks like quince to me. Wouldn't a lime have a nice lime scent, if you cut one open?

I looked up quince and they look like a pear.

There's more than one kind of quince. We have a couple and one looks like that. The fruit get almost softball size on ours. No thorns on that one, but the ones the pear trees are grafted on have major thorns on the suckers. That one you have could be a great security hedge if you could imagine a lot of them growing around a yard. No animal or human could walk through it.

That one is about 12-13 ft tall and dense
