Hey Folks,

Been awhile, hows everyone doing?

I am just getting back into my favorite hobby, ive moved alot the ast year finally ended up back in Alaska, and somewhere along the way i lost my seedbank, all of my great genetics gone total Bummer :(

So, i am in need of getting some new seeds, anyone make any recommendations of something new or special they have grown lately, prefer indica or heavy indica dominate, also something that can be grown completely stealthy smell wise.

Going to be just doing a single plant from now on with alot fo training for yield, i want to make a new grow box something maybe 2x3 or so.

Which brings me to my next question since i gave away all of my grow gear, i am in the market for an LED light this time, i saw some posts in the lighting thread about some that a few folks have picked up, i would kind of like UFO, something good for my new small space.

Anyhow, glad to be back amongst yall.

Hi Iron Emmett, welcome back!

Why a single plant? I personally do not really think that is a good idea. First of all is the veg time it will take a single plant to reach enough size to fill a 2 x 3 space without getting too tall. And I never like to put all my eggs in one basket. You could probably get 2-3 nice little indicas in that spot just fine and have a great yield without having to have a 10 week veg period.

Get a good LED if you are going to get an LED. I don't think I have ever heard anyone say good things about the UFOs--and I hate it when a company over-hypes their products to the point of fraud. A 90W UFO was never going to take the place of a 400W HPS although they often advertised that when they first came out in their literature all the time.

I am more of a sativa gal and can say that I have tried few indicas that really slapped me down. My favorite indica is a cross made by a friend. I am trying Hashberry for the first time for another indica strain in my closet--I do want a hashy tasting strain in my closet. But as these are still babies I have no recommendations on indicas.

Thanks all for the warm welcome, it is really nice to be bac on here, no place like MP for friendly growers :)

I'll check into that diamond series for LED thanks yooper.

Congrats on being a Mod rosebud, ill try not to break any rules so ya gotta crack the whip :)

THG, thanks for the info about the UFO, the only reason i was considering it was because it was small and rated for my new grow box size, ill try something else for sure, i may end up doing a few smaller plants as you suggest it is always nice to have variety, im just kind of worried about smell control, in all my previous grows i was allowed to be a little lax on that front, now it absolutely required, staying in an apartment for the time being.

as for Hashberry, i have grown it 5 times, it was really Berry flavor strong with that mossy earth master kush smell in the background, good smoke for relaxing and it was pretty simple to trim, i even saved some pollen and made a Hashberry/White Fire Alien, unfortunately i never got to grow it because i lost my seeds.

A 300 watt diamond series would cover a 2 x 3 space nicely. I did a 3 plant scrog in that space and got over 6 oz. I have tried the topledlights which are cheaper but I'm not convinced yet.

When I first started growing I wanted a low odor strain, searched the web and came up with Cinderella 99. The plants I grew had very little smell, just what I wanted.

Thanks for all the LED suggestions folks, i was actually looking into the same light that Rose and Hammy use, just one size smaller, should work for my new area.

MR1, Ive smoked Cindy but never grown her, i'll have to check into that, i appreciate it.

Here is an LED I have been running.

http://www.topledgrowlight.com/reflector-led-grow-light-144x3w.html

It does veg and flower. I have had it for a couple of grows only but so far so good. Mine is the 3W not a 5.
hey there Rosebud, this looks like a nice LED fair price and all, i'm interested to know how much area does it cover in flowering? It consumes 250-300w, which HPS size light can it replace and give similar results in harvest? In short i am looking into it to see if it is worth it to replace HPS with it, and if it gives similar results to one 600w. if so, it would be tempting to get it for myself

Don't know why I didn't think of it before but this is so totally the answer to my question/problem about full footprint coverage in my 3x5 tent.

I am also interested to heat the answers to Zem's questions about coverage/footprint. And, about it's comparison to a 600w HPS.

EDIT: I went to look at the specs on this light and it says it is only 10" x 33", overall. The pics make it look much larger. I don't believe one of these would ever give a good footprint for my 3x5 tent. If I remember right LED owners are keeping the light real real close to the plants so the projected footprint is going to be very small. About the same size as the unit. At this size, I would need 6 of them in 1 tent to cover the entire area. That totally sounds wrong. Rose, is yours really that small?

10.5x33" I got 2 to replace a 400 and 600 HPS. I grew 7 pretty good size girls under there. I like that they veg too..here is some baby clones under it. Don't look at those clones, they are Harlequin and they look strange until flower.... They are in 3 gallon smart pots.

I ran One of the same fixtures in my 4x4 Flower Tent and I was obviously under lit. Now I have two LED fixtures and it's been great so far. Oh and you don't want to get the LED lights right down on them like HO T5's, you want them a certain distance from the tops.

i am not intending to hijack this thread but rosebud, you said you bought 2 to replace your 400 and 600 watt hps lamps. are 2 of these the equivalent of 1000 watts of hps(so 500 per led fixture)? and mr1, do you use one of these exclusively in your 4x4 tent or do you supplement with other lighting? both rosebud and mr1 appear to have their stuff locked in. i enjoy the bud porn you both post. thanks.

Oldfogey8, that is all I have in there for light. It is rated for 4x4 space.
Oldfogey8, Hamster also has some great led bud porn grown with those lights.

old fogey, yes i would say the 2 fixtures equal 1000 W. I do not have my led grow locked in. The resulting herb from my led grow is top shelf, killer pot. But my plants got too hot and looked like heck throughout the last grow. I will be flipping some big girls today and those little clones will go back to Ts. I will take a pic for you and post in my journal.
Sorry for the hijack Iron.
