yup, thats alota tails. hows trics look?? hairs look white. VERY NICE BUDS PUP!!

Yum Hush!!!! VERY NICE.... Thank you for showing us.. always show us.

Nice Hush, I was interested in that goji. Quite a harvest there let us know how she smokes

Thanks guys. She has been a challenge to grow, not because she is finicky but because she wants to grow through the roof and up the tree outside. She smells amazing, like sweet, overripe fruit. I will taste some of the scissor hash this evening.

BL: Foxtails are the little singular bud stems that you see everywhere. It makes these buds look like bunches of grapes or bunches of Hopps. Some strains are more inclined to produce foxtails than others but heat is a big factor as well.

GH: the trichs are about 85% milky and 10% amber with 5% clear, "roughly speaking". Sometimes its hard to get a clear percentage "guess" at them. These went exactly 10weeks to the day as prescribed by the person who gave me the seeds.

That is great HP :) I also have no way to lower the heat below 80 in july-august seasons and it sucks. I will do the chiller fridge thing next summer and run a dwc keeping the roots sitting in cool water. Do you think that would help the plant overcome the cold easier?

hiya pup, my last grow of chocolope went 12 weeks and i feel they were not quite ready. 50/50 clear, cloudy. 5% amber. u r right. it is hard to get a sure count. different magnification scopes give me different results... i get foxtailing in 75 degree heat as much as 85. i blame it on pushing nutes, strain and BLOOM booster. 2 grows ago, it was cold in my tent. about 70 degrees. got lots of purple leaves, buds. this i attributed to the cold. also had lots of fox tail that grow... on heavy ts grow show, he had on a big name on (cant remember his name), but he loved 75 degree flower. heavy t loved 80 to 85 degree heat... my foxtails, rosettes usually have more or better trics. they're sometimes almost white. can't help but like them..AGAIN NICE GROW. wanna hear how they smoke..

Hushpuppy,

Nice looking harvest.

I am interested in you referring to Goji as a 'high end plant'.
I hope that means 'real good' because I have 11 Purple Goji now about a foot tall, along with 8 Dream catcher. The Dream Catcher sounded real good being made up of Blueberry/Haze and Cronic but I wondered why I bought the Goji after they came. It is described as a northern India female kush x Polar Bear which is from White and Bear? See?
To me, anyway, totally strange and unfamiliar.

I just wondered if you had tried it yet and how was it. Or failing that where did you first hear about it? I got it from OGS and if Deb likes it, I feel better about trying it.

Everything here is looking better all the time.
I wash my potting soil twice a week for two weeks before using it and it still contains enough nutes for vegging! Plants are green and growing well.
I am shopping for a new batch of seeds and I think I'll contact Bog again and repeat my old order.

Thanks again...

Thanks guys. I got these beans from a friend on another forum who is a private breeder. He (I think) rebred these to stabilize them more (I believe these are F3) and he said they were a very good medical strain. (I don't know the history or lineage on them) I don't know if there is any difference in the beans I got and those commercially offered but they smell great. I tried a little bit of the scissor hash that I got from harvesting and it was very smooth and tasty, light and fruity. The high was very heady. I hope that calms down a little as they cure as I like a balance of head and body.

Zem: I think having the cooler water certainly helps the plants handle more heat. Kind of like being in soil where the roots are insulated from the higher (or lower) temps helps them do better.

The Foxtailing is puzzling sometimes. I have heard so much about what causes it, but I have noticed on my plants that I generally see more foxtailing when the temps are higher. Its probably just one of many factors that can cause it. I don't think it hurts the potency or flavor any. I am doing another run of it for fall/Nov harvest. The temps and humidity should be much more manageable then. We will see how they turn out.

I didn't show any pics of my Pineapple Chunk as it didn't finish very impressive (mostly because of the heat and because of the Goji laying over it. But the flavor for the PC is off the chart good. I am also going to do another run of the PC as I think the cooler weather will help it turn out better.

Bodhi describes himself as a ethno botanist, and not a breeder. He did an interview on the Adam Dunn show and talked about many of his seeds. He routinely does field trips. He mentioned smoking weed in Nepal and the Himalayas. Goji is a cross of something from Nepal that he brought back.

pup, i grew p. chunk outdoors with pretty good luck. little mold compared to others. i grew it indoors twice. first batch was good. several years layer grew again. the buds were strange looking but still appeared very nice. after drying i realized how thready they were. not great bag appeal but the smoke was still great. i dont know how else to describe it, thready. a big bud thats made up of many strings of tiny buds. never saw anything like it.

poet, what is the reason for washing, draining your soils (4) times ??? dirty dirt??

Grass hopper,

Why would someone wash... their dirt?
Hmmm...?
Granted, a play on words to attract attention.
A colorful expression to start a post with and seemingly a contradiction but wait.
Its a long story... Why?
I was running out of 'X' and watching my little plants die right before my eyes for no reason,
they were really suffering too!
I couldn't figure it out! I have grown a garden {tomatoes and peppers} for over 50 years and even have the first issue of the Mother Earth News 1973 with 'the Robinson plan' in it!
My plants were dying and I was at a loss for a reason.
Months went by... and no new growth!

The leaves were dark blue/gray and were not alive.
New leaves were green but after that they were dying.. why!
They were seeds!
No nutes were applied till they were 6" high and then a weak, 'young plant' mix, it was normal...

I googled up Empire Builder potting soil and there it was!
The source of my problem, right there! It was easy!
What did people do in the days before computers?

Sorry to go on so but as I said everything is good now.
I solved the problem with the realization that my dirt was dirty and needed washing, that's all.

Looks great Pup :batman:, my foxtailing has always came from too high of nutes,,,to a lock out and salt f'n with them. I've grown in temps busting the 90's with no ill effects, airy buds sometimes in hi-heat but not foxtailing....and as you know I run the gambit on strains.

Take care, hope all is well.

not looking for attention bud. But always trying to learn what others do and why. sorry, i didn't get your drift at all, but u need not explain futher. if it works for u. great..

Thanks guys; I might try to back off the nutes a bit in flower to see what they do. I typically feed in flower between 1200ppm and 1400ppm and rarely go outside that range. Since both of these strains seem very "Sativa" structured and high, it may be that they don't feed as heavy. Only time will tell.

GH; I think he had issues with the soil being either too hot for his plants or too out of balance for his plants. What he is doing, I believe, is flushing the soil a little to get some of the heavier stuff out so that he doesn't burn the plants or lock up the nutes still there.

Hey Bwanabud :) good to see you still popping in from time to time.

Umbra: I forgot that these beans came from Bodhi. I don't know if the guy that sent them to me IS Bodhi or just a friend of his. He is on the other forum where several folks from here went. But the fragrance on these girls is so good that my wife (who normally thinks MJ smells like skunk whiz) said it smells very sweet and fruity. I hope it smokes as good :)

There are a couple of pheno's if I recall. 1 is boysenberry and another is butter.

This harvest is proving to be a nice bumper crop. I don't know yet on weight but I did a second cut yesterday and had nearly the same amount as I took pic of the first time, and I still have one more cut to do on her before its done. She is proving to be a nice yielder, even under not the most ideal conditions. I'll give a smoke report and weight report once it is all dried.

So much porn i just got a boner, how beautiful :O
I WISH!!!
