Half the plant is ready for harvest

Hi everyone its bin a while. I got this plant that is ready to harvest atleast some of it is. The tops are not ready but the lower buds are ready the tricomes are at 40 persent amber can i harvest the lower buds and leave the tops growing. I think i over did the toping of the plant. Im worred i will kill it if i harvest the lower part of the plant .Thanks for any help u can give me

I would say the plant is ready at 40 %. I thought the tops matured first. I used to cut the top and let the bottom mature, but at 40 i would harvest. Are you wanting to reveg or something?

no not reveg I just top it to much during veg now its taking longer to mature than the rest of the plant so I want to harvest the lower half and let the tops grow I just don't want to harvest to much and kill the plant these are out door plants and getting close to end of grow season cool weather is coming
