Here's a cheap light idea.

I just wanted to throw this cheap light idea out there for people looking for lights. I picked this fixture up at a yard sale for $5, it's the typical fixture you seen outside businesses. I removed the ballast and wired directly with an old three prong chord from a vacuum cleaner. I bought 1 2ft piece is 3/4 Pex tubing for a couple bucks, picked up a piece of scrap stainless at the scrap yard. Picked up a 600w Phantom ballast on ebay from simply-live for $35 delivered, bought a Vivosun 600w hps bulb for $18 on ebay. I had to switch the ballast plug end to match my light cord, very easy and takes 5 mins. Screw it all together and BOOM, pieced together and all in I have $70 to build this light.

Good use of materials. Get a ball peen hammer and beat up that reflector. It’ll get rid of your hot spots

There she is starting the next batch. I'm using a MH 250w until they get bigger. I tried cloning but they seem to have not taken, maybe next time. Seedling are good though.

I ordered seeds from weed seeds dot com but I think I got had. They aren't answering my messages. So for now I'm using regs which is a 50/50 chance. gotta find a good bank for autos because I really want to try my hand at them.
