Wow  i was recently put in charge of clearing out some rooms at a friend of mines place. A bit of background on said friend. They are in their early 70's and have been a hippy all of their lives. The rooms i was told to clean out haven't even been entered in more than a decade. I was told if i find something i like i can keep what ever i want its all trash as far as they were concerned. As i was going through the mounds and mounds of basically trash, i cross a box that weighs a ton. I open it up and to my shock i find years of old High Times mags, a copy of The Closet Cultivator, assorted porn, and other goodies like my new beer mug that has jiggly boobies on it that states drink or bust  But enough of that back to the HT i now have the first years collection minus the very first, plus there are many other years worth of them from 74-78 with only a few here and there missing. a few pics of the earliest one i now have. I did also find a few old smoking devices in the mess too, old pipes and bongs and such ill get a few pics of some of them once i get them all cleaned up and see which ones are worth keeping.

Nice.

I am also on a mission to try and collect them all.
Wow now that would be something i was really just impressed with the ones i was fortunate enough to find. I know this year is the 35th for them over at HT (Happy Anni HT :D) but i really doubt if i would ever be able to try and attempt that feat :holysheep:.

Don't ya just enjoy looking back into history and sometimes wondering Now why on earth did they keep this?I especially like old newspaper clippings.

Hi,

I'm an old hippy... born in '63 so I was just starting out as a pot smoker around 1976 when I was 13... shame on me! I used to buy HT when i was a teenager and that cover looks VERY familiar like I had bought or read that one 30 years ago... It was probably the last time I bought one! Thanks for sharing... Did you find any Fabulous Freak Bros. stoner comix?

Peace!

Yeah... but I also watch Antiques Roadshow and routinely see all the "junk" that my Mom and Dad routinely 'cleared out' over the years actually be worth much more than you'd ever think they would... Even those HT... I don't have a clue but they may be very collectible?

Peace!

I had seen those when i was "researching" just how collectible they may be. I was surprised though that there were no bids on that.

Here's something i found to be interesting this site has lists for just how collectible each mag is it pub date and just about everything you would want to know about HT.
