How much light during veg stage???

Ive been keeping my girlz under 18hrs of light a day and my roomate wants them to be on 24. Now I know they will grow faster this way, but are there any downsides to having the plant under 24hrs of light, during the whole veg stage?

Some people say the plants like the dark period (for sugar production I believe) Try it both ways and see what works best for you.

They grow faster under 24/0 than 18/6 so it doesn't cost any more.
I don't know about "sugar production" but I do know I've ALWAYS used an 24/0 veg cycle, and have grown some dynamite shit (3 bong hits and you forget how to talk).
