I was supposed to obtain use of a 1000 W HPS bulb for my tent, however the bulb blew out and I have a 600 watt HPS. Here is my comparison of the 600 HPS vs my current LED setup which according to my math is approximately 650 watts.

22 inch height
First readings are my current LEDs using the photon app on Android, Samsung Galaxy s10e.
Second readings are 600 W HPS using the Photon app on Android, Samsung Galaxy s10e.

These readings are taken from dead Center. The HPS PPFD falls off rapidly moving towards the outer edges. I will account this to the fact that the LEDs are split up between two fixtures and are much wider in general so they cover a larger area.

Technology has come a long way with grow lights. I imagine you'll save a bunch in the long run with led since you already have them. Plus with the ridiculous rising cost of power these days. The extra cost of ventilation for hps is no longer needed too. Plus those led's will last way longer than any halide or hps. Only cost is upfront with the purchase. And now you have a backup supply too. Lots of positives going on here. Very nice.
