There's was mold appearing on my sativa. This was an effect of placing a moist tissue in the jars lid. I then puntured holes in the lid so that it could get some air and placed it in direct sunlight. Now the mold is appearantly gone but the herb is much browner that before. My intent is to preserve the quality of smoke. What should my next step be?

It sounds to me like your weed was ruined.
Ruined by mold, before you stopped it.
The only thing I can suggest it to remove it from the jar, spread it out on a tabletop until it's dry, and smell it.
Odor is a good indication of it's smokeability.
If it smells bad, don't smoke it. Smoking mold/fungus could f*ck you up health-wise, imo.

That's no opinion Ganja, mold can be very bad for you, potentially causing problems that stick around for a long time. Without knowing what type of mold it is, I don't know what I would do. I have heard of people making hash out of moldy bud,I don't know if it's any better for you though.
